The Tri-County R-7 Board of Education met Wednesday, July 11, appointing a new member to the board, accepting three bids and agreeing to seek additional bids for cleaning services.
According to information provided by Superintendent David Probasco, the board appointed Heath Carter to fill a vacant seat on the board. He replaces Brandon Hoover, who had earlier resigned from the board.
Bids for the 2018-2019 school year were accepted, with Graves being awarded the bread bid, while Hiland Dairy was awarded the milk bid. Bids from both Landes and MFA were accepted for fuel. It was agreed to seek additional bids for cleaning services.
Board members approved both the employee and student handbooks for the 2018-2019 school year.
In new business, the board approved lunch prices for the coming year, which will remain the same as last year, and agreed to cash in a maturing certificate of deposit and seek bids for reinvestment at the August meeting. The budget was discussed, with no action taken and set the tax rate hearing for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23. Athletic admission prices were discussed, with no action taken.
An executive session for personnel was held, with no announcement made.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8.
