Although she made the list of three finalists, former Trenton R-9 Superintendent Dr. Becky Albrecht was not chosen as the next superintendent of the St. Joseph School District.
Dr. Doug Van Zyl, who is currently superintendent of the Ft. Dodge, IA, Community School District, was announced on Thursday as the new superintendent at St. Joseph and will begin his duties on July 1. He will replace former Princeton R-5 and current St. Joseph superintendent Dr. Robert Newhart, who will be retiring at the end of the current school year.
Dr. Albrecht currently serves as superintendent of the Maryville R-3 School District, a position she has held for three years. She was superintendent at Trenton for nine years and also served as principal at both the high school and middle school as well as a teacher in the R-9 District.
