There are not too many desserts better than a fresh coconut cream pie and judges Darrel Cunningham, left, and Dave Burkeybile, right, got the chance to try one from Dianna Rains during Saturday’s Galt Fall Festival. Serving the pie was Jolene Grindstaff, who was in charge of the contest. Mrs. Rains won both first and second place with her baking entries, including the top prize with her coconut cream pie. Her pecan pie earned second place. In the junior division dessert making, Waylon Jackson took first place with his pumpkin spice cupcakes while Teya Cooksey was second with chocolate cupcakes. Other winners announced from events held at the fall festival included Mariah Fox, first place in the adult division of the pumpkin decorating contest (Cookie Monster); Avery Gamet, first in the children’s division (a troll); and Cari Bundridge, first in the scarecrow decorating contest (Daisy Duke)
