Peter Brewer, a 70-year-old Trenton resident, died at 11:34 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Saint Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the mortuary.
Mr. Brewer was born on April 9, 1947 in Chard, Somerset, England, the son of Lusty and Florence Hayball Brewer. He graduated from the Chard Boys School in England.
He was married on Oct. 20, 1971 in Chard to Sue Parham. He farmed in Somerset, England from 1962 until 1982, when he and Sue moved to Trenton. The couple bought a farm just south of Trenton and farmed it from 1983 until the present. He had a love for farming as well as playing golf and tennis.
He also served as director of Grundy Electric Cooperative for many years.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Sue; a son, David Brewer and his wife, Paige of Kansas City; and grandchildren, Piper, Layton, Peter and Samuel, all of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bruce Brewer; and a sister, Sandra Lillington.
Memorial donations are suggested to either the Saint Luke’s Hospice House or the North Central Missouri College Barton Campus. They can be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary.
