The Spickard R-2 Board of Education approved several items during a meeting held Monday night at the school.
According to information provided by Superintendent Burnie Schneiderheinze, the board approved the 2016-2017 Professional Development Plan, which included a proposed schedule and expenditures. Also approved was the district wellness plan, including goals, committee members and nutrition education, as well as the DESE model of the Special Education Compliance Plan. Board members agreed to move forward with opening an account at U.S. Bank for the purpose of direct deposit and heard a financial update from Schneiderheinze, who also updated the board on MAP results and attendance, both of which are up from the previous year. The Annual Secretary of the Board Report was reviewed and it was announced that students will be traveling to Papa Charlie’s Pumpkin Patch near Chillicothe on Oct. 11. Board members were reminded of the MSBA Conference, scheduled for Sept. 29-Oct. 2.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Oct. 17.
