Ronald Lynn Day, a 61-year-old resident of Chariton, IA, died on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015 at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton.
An open visitation is under way at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, where the family visitation will be from 5 to 8 o’clock tonight (Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015). Cremation will follow.
Mr. Day was born on Aug. 11, 1954 in Chariton, the son of Carl Wilbur and Belva Phae Higdon Day. He was raised in Lineville, IA, where he attended school. He worked in highway construction for several years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards (especially Rook), visiting with friends and neighbors, drinking coffee on his front porch and horses.
He was married on April 26, 1987 to Karen Kay Smith, who survives him of their home in Chariton.
He is also survived by three daughters, Krisinda Wright and her husband, Lee Jay of Woodburn, IA, and Samantha Day and Katina Day, both of Des Moines, IA; two grandchildren, Warren Snyder and Caleb Wright; three sisters, Norma Reaves and Lavatis Hamilton and her husband, Phillip all of Lineville, and Barbara Stark of Trenton; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Byers; and his brother, David Day.
