Trenton Woman Wins Big In Lottery

Oct 2, 2015 | Headline News

It only took $5 for a Trenton resident to win $100,000 on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket and become debt free. Paige Willey, 23, picked the right “Win It All” Scratchers ticket while buying a drink at TNT Convenience, 1419 E. Ninth St. in Trenton, on Sept. 23.
“You have to spend more than $5 there,” remembered Willey, who was using her debit card to make her purchase. “So, I said, ‘I’ll do a ticket.’”
Mrs. Willey, a security guard, uncovered her $100,000 prize in her car with her three-year-old daughter in the backseat.
“She thinks I won $10, and she is so excited,” she said.
After realizing that she had won a substantial prize, Willey took the ticket back inside the store to be verified and immediately called her husband.
“He said I was a liar and then hung up on me,” noted Willey, adding that he soon had a change of heart after receiving a text with a picture of the ticket.
The mother claimed her $100,000 prize at the Lottery’s Kansas City regional office the following day, and already had a plan of action as to how she was going to spend her winnings.
“I’m going to pay off all of our debt and I’m going to buy a brand new car, all for $5,” Mrs. Willey said.
