Busy Bees 4-H Club Meets

The Busy Bees 4-H Club met on Sunday, Sept. 20 at the Laredo community center with 11 members, five leaders and four guests present.
President Allena Allen presided over the meeting. Morgan Foster led the pledge to the U.S. flag and Robert Urich led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was answered with each member telling what their favorite hobby is.
Kristi Urich announced that online enrollment opens for the new 4-H year on Oct. 1. She also announced National 4-H week will be Oct. 4-10. Members agreed to have a window display and to take part in recording public service announcements at the radio station.
Mrs. Urich also stated there will be a Drive One for 4-H fundraiser event on Oct. 24. It was announced that the 4-H Council meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on Sept. 28 at the courthouse. She also mentioned a 4-H enrollment kickoff will happen from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 1.
Members held an election of officers for the 2015-2016 year with the following being elected: Rebecca Urich, president; Haley Kidd, vice president; Mariah Fox, secretary; Allena Allen, treasurer; Morgan Foster, reporter; Ada Fox, historian; Robert Urich, council representative; and Logan Foster, chaplain.
Members also voted on club goals and formed a committee to design a new club t-shirt. Refreshments were brought by the Urichs.
The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Laredo community center.
