Veterans Benefit Schedule Set

Veterans and their families can receive assistance from a VA service officer during the month of June.
The service officer will be at Hy-Vee Food Store in Trenton from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, June 2 and at the VFW Hall in Trenton from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 6. Those attending either session are asked to bring all VA paperwork with them as well as military separation papers. Questions about the VA can also be presented during either session.
At the June 6 session, a veterans center counselor will also be present to provide free confidential help to veterans and families of active military personnel as well as any veterans who may also need those services.
A veterans service officer is located in Trenton on a full-time basis, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The telephone number to contact the officer, Wayne Kleinschmidt, is 359-2078.
The VFW is in need of a working laptop or PC to process veterans paperwork. Current equipment is no longer supported by the software due to age. Persons wanting to make a donation or having other questions may call Kleinschmidt at 359-2078.
