Local Man Places 11th In Kansas City Marathon

Roberto Garcia ran the full Kansas City Marathon on Saturday and placed 11th overall in a field of around 6,000 runners. Garcia covered the 26.2 miles in a time of 2:57:05.
It was the first major marathon for Garcia who, in addition to placing 11th overall, took third in his age group, 25- to 29-year-old.

Garcia, 26, does his training in the mornings before work, waking up at 3:30 a.m. to run to Chillicothe, Gallatin or Princeton and back. Garcia was up at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday to get to Kansas City in time for the event. Garcia ran the race and returned to Trenton in time for work that night at 5 o’clock.
