Marjorie M. Tilley, an 87-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Pastor Gary Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the Princeton Cemetery.
Open visitation and viewing will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at the funeral home. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mrs. Tilley was born on Jan. 3, 1924 near Mt. Moriah in Harrison County, the daughter of Harry Jennings and Hazel Della Lloyd Brown. She lived most of her childhood years in the Ravanna community in Mercer County and was a 1941 graduate of Ravanna High School.
She was married at Marshall on July 29, 1950 to Grant Ulyssus Tilley, who preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1997.
Marjorie had worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses, including the Carlisle Motor Company and the Princeton Post-Telegraph newspaper. She also served Mercer County as Deputy County Clerk and as Morgan Township Clerk for many years. She was a member of the Princeton First Christian Church, where she served as treasurer of the Christian Women’s Fellowship for years. She was also a member of the Jolly Workers Club and the Samba Card Club.
She enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, going to the “boat”, hand piecing quilts, flowers, spending time with friends and family and doing for others.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Delameter and her husband, Olin of Princeton; a son, Bruce Tilley and his wife, Teresa of Unionville; three grandchildren, Todd Tilley and his wife, Michelle of Springfield, Paul Tilley and his wife, Georgina of Bolivar and Melinda Jones and her husband, Lee of Ashland; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons, Brian Long and his wife, TaNisha and Brad Long and his wife, April, all of Milan; four step-great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Wilber Lee Brown; and a grandson, Nathan Derald Delameter on Nov. 19, 1999.
