A total of 28 tables of businesses, organizations and individuals will be set up at the Trenton Rock Barn from 6 to 7:30 p.m., providing children a safe area in which to do their trick or treating. As a result, the Ambassadors are accepting no more requests for tables, but those wanting to make donations of candy to help make the night a success are invited to do so.
According to committee members, response to participate in this year’s Halloween activities has been tremendous and this is the fastest that table reservations have been filled. Several groups who have been a part of the event in the past will be returning while there will also be several new participants. In addition, the Ambassadors have received several donations of both money and candy, which will be used to provide “treats” for the children during the 90-minute event.
Those scheduled to take part in this year’s Ambassadors/Chamber Halloween Night include the Trenton Ambassadors, Preceptor Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Citizens Bank and Trust, Crow-Walker Insurance, North Central Missouri College Student Senate and education program students, Wright Memorial Hospital, ConAgra Foods, Hy-Vee, Huckleberry’s, KCP&L, 4-D Tax Service, Heartland Realty, Royal Inn Pizza, North Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center, Coon Creek Church, the THS Mascots, the Green Hills Good Sams, Chirosolutions, Relaxation Therapy, the Trenton Kiwanis Club, Doodlebug Daycare, Bob’s Satellite Service, H&R Block, 5-Star Chiropractic, North 65 Center, Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri, Grundy County Friends of the Arts and Scott VonBurg (facepainting).
Each of the table participants will be decorating and dressing up according to a theme that they choose. Decorating will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24 and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25.
Children who attend are encouraged to dress up in Halloween attire and while they can bring their own bags to collect candy and other items being give away during the evening, bags will be available.
Candy has also been donated by Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home, Serve Link Home Care, Stan and Diane Lowrey and Magnolias. Other businesses have also been contacted for candy donations. IMS Maintenance Supply and L&B Auction are supplying tables for the participants.
Children/parents planning to attend are asked to enter the Rock Barn area on the east side of the building through the gated area and come into the Rock Barn through the north door. There will be no entry allowed through the south door. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Persons can exit through either the north or south door.
This is the seventh year for the Halloween event. Committee members for this year’s event are Bonita Price, Linda Eads, Debbie Carman, Diane Lowrey, Sharon Barnett and Jordan Ferguson.
