Jeremy Peery, a conservation warden with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, was named the 2010 Officer of the Year during a program on June 5 in Ladysmith, WI.

Peery received the 2009 Haskell Noyes Wisconsin Conservation Warden Efficiency Award in recognition of his outstanding work, exemplary service to the public and his contributions to wildlife law enforcement. According to information provided by the NAWEOA Peery’s recognition came for working diligently to build a law enforcement program that balances enforcement and community needs while exceeding expectations in may facets of a warden’s duties. Among the activities for which he was honored included his work to initiate a deer hunt for disabled military veterans, mentoring at an annual youth outdoor field day and collaborating on numbers projects with Safe Hunters of Tomorrow in Rusk County, WI.
Peery is the conservation warden in Rusk County, where he has been the past 11 years. In addition to his warden duties, he also serves as a wrestling coach at Bruce High School and received high school wrestling coach of the year honors.
Peery is the son of Bev and Larry Denny and the grandson of Gerald and Betty Berry of Trenton.
