The employees of the month at Rissler Elementary School, Trenton Middle School and Trenton High School have been announced for the month of October.

Georgie Griffin, evening custodian, has been honored at Rissler, while Donalyn Crowley, seventh grade social studies instructor has been honored at TMS and Lana Beverlin, art instructor, has been honored at THS.

Rissler Principal Kathy Nolke said Georgie Griffin is employed in the district through the Experience Works Program. He was recommended by his peers for the honor and is always courteous, cheerful and polite. Mrs. Nolke said he carries out his duties and treats others in a very professional manner, taking the time to get to know the staff and going “above and beyond” the requirements of his job to help the teachers in their efforts to provide a clean, safe environment for the students.

TMS Principal Toni Cox said Donalyn Crowley always displays an enthusiastic attitude with her students in the seventh grade social studies classes. She noted that Mrs. Crowley’s professionalism, courteousness and positive attitude are very much appreciated by both students and staff.

Lana Beverlin has taught art for 26 years, with the last six years being at THS, where she teaches Art I, Advanced Art, Painting, Ceramics and works with several students in Independent Studies in Art. THS Principal Becky Albrecht said that in addition to her teaching duties, Mrs. Beverlin puts many hours and considerable effort into helping other groups and organizations with their art needs. For example, during Homecoming Week, Mrs. Beverlin worked with staff and students in the art room every night to assist with hallway and float decorations.

“The staff and administration praise Mrs. Beverlin’s commitment to the school, school spirit and her students,” said Mrs. Albrecht. “The THS hallways are always bright and attractive due to the artwork displayed.”
