An incumbent has filed for re-election to the Trenton City Council, subject to the April 8 municipal election.
Jackie Soptic of 310 Main St., has filed for re-election as council member from the First Ward. She has served one two-year term on the council and is the first candidate to file for a council seat. Persons wishing to file for positions on the council may do so through Jan. 21. Other terms that will expire include Gary Black, second ward; Don Peyton, third ward; and Larry Crawford, fourth ward. Third Ward Councilman Gary Hurst and Gary R. Hall have both filed for the position of mayor.
