John William Cole, a 69-year-old resident of Carthage, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at his residence.
The body was cremated. Private services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Cole was born in Carthage on Nov. 17, 1933, the son of John Everett and Myrtle Rose Curry. He was a salesman for PAG Seed Co. He was born and raised in Carthage. He left Carthage and returned in 1978. He was married to Barbara Tener, who survives.
Mr. Cole is survived by one son, Jeff Cole of Carthage; one daughter, Lynn Moore of Trenton; three brothers, Ronald Cole, Richard Cole and Robert “Chuck” Cole of Carthage; three sisters, Mary Babcock, Alice Kost and Connie Jones of Carthage; one step-mother-in-law, Colene Tener of Trenton; and one grandson, Justin Moore and his wife, Traci, of Trenton.
Mr. Cole was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence “Larry” Cole; and one sister, Sherry Burlingame.
