I. Elaine Buckner, a 71-year-old St. Joseph resident and former Humphreys resident, died at 8:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 21 at Mt. Zion Christian Church south of Humphreys.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Open visitation will be held from noon until 6 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 20 at Slater-Neal Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mrs. Buckner was born Nov. 25, 1950 at Linneus, the daughter of Dale Reece and Betty Irene Buckman Wood. She retired after working 29 years as an executive secretary in the Public Works Department of the City of St. Joseph.
On July 8, 1968 she was married to Gary W. Buckner at Meadville. He survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Rochelle Elaine Parker of Parkville; a son, Bruce Wayne Buckner and his wife, Beth of Church Hill, MT; five grandchildren, Allison Elder and her husband, Jacob, Ashley Carrithers and her husband, Jerrad, Aimee Parker, Weston Buckner and Samuel Buckner; seven great-grandchildren, Maverick, Kingston, Lily, Brant, Preston, Bryden and Lila; one sister, Dianna Smiley and her husband, Kevin of Portland, OR; two brothers, Rex Wood and his wife, Pat of Meadville, and Steve Wood and his wife, Debbie of Linneus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Truman Buckner; and grandparents Manley and Opal Buckman and Troy Wood.
