The Trenton Middle School football team closed its season with a 38-26 road win in Gallatin on Monday.
Elijah Miller hauled in an 81-yard touchdown pass from Cooper Houser in the first quarter and Mathew Bowden added a 21-yard touchdown run with a Houser 2-point conversion run giving the Bulldogs a 14-8 first quarter lead. A 5-yard touchdown run by Michael Baker in the second quarter with a Bowden 2-point conversion run gave Trenton a 22-14 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, Houser scored on a 14-yard run with Baker carrying in the 2, and Baker scored on a 13-yard run with Houser throwing a successful 2-point pass to Miller as Trenton stretched the advantage to 38-14. Gallatin would score twice in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs’ lead held up as Trenton took the game by 12 points.
With the win, the middle school closed the season with a 4-2 overall record.
