Coloring Contest Makes Return To The Missouri Day Festival

Sep 28, 2021 | Announcements, Headline News, Missouri Day

After being cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a coloring contest is back as part of this year’s Missouri Day Festival.
The coloring contest is open to all Grundy County youth in grades pre-school through fourth grade, including those who are homeschooled. The theme for this year’s contest is “Celebrating MO’s Bicentennial.”
Coloring pages have been sent to area schools. The completed page must be returned to the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce office by 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8 for entry into the contest. Pictures may be colored with crayons, colored pencils or markers. They will be judged by grade level and must have the student’s name, school, and grade listed on the back. Each year, missing information results in pages being eliminated from the competition so adults are reminded to check to see that the information is included.
First-, second- and third- place finalists will be awarded gift cards from this year’s sponsor, Orscheln Farm and Home, in the amount of $15 for first place, $10 for second place and $5 for third place. Prizes will be awarded at the Missouri Day opening ceremonies scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at the First Baptist Church in Trenton.
