Otto J. Gumm, a 94-year-old Kansas City resident, died at 12:40 a.m., Monday, May 24, 2021 at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City.
A family visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Resthaven Mortuary.
A private graveside service and burial will be held later in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Trenton.
Mr. Gumm was born Aug. 28, 1926 at Tindall, the son of William P. and Martha L. Polley Gumm. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Before his retirement, he was employed as a trailer mechanic for Fruehauf Trailer Repair Shop.
Mr. Gumm was a member of Alpha Lodge No. 659, A.F. & A.M., North Kansas City, and Ararat Shrine of Kansas City.
On Oct. 30, 1948 he was married to Bonnie Gean Keith at Trenton. She survives of Kansas City.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Pamela Beverlin (Michael) of Trenton; three grandchildren, Nicole Murdoch, Tiffany Striegel (Tom) and Travis Beverlin (Terie); six great- grandchildren; and two great -great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; and two half- brothers.
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation and may be left with the mortuary.
