Spickard Board Approves Bids At Special Meeting

The Spickard R-2 Board of Education accepted several bids during a special meeting held May 5.
According to information provided by Secretary Kelli Girdner, the board accepted a bid of $28,500 for removal of asbestos flooring from Sunbelt Environmental Service of Springfield, and accepted a bid from Country Carpet and Furniture of Chillicothe for the purchase of flooring for a total of $37,618.20. The includes nylon carpet tiles for the main floor and the third floor. The flooring will be paid for through ESSR Cares Funding. Also approved was the purchase of six ceiling fans without lights from Lowe’s to replace older ones in the kitchen/cafeteria area. The board also voted to purchase a mower from Woody’s Outdoor at a cost of $2,100 minus the amount allowed for a trade in.
