A total of 12 members were announced as recipients of the Paul Harris Fellow, which recognizes individual contributions to the Rotary program and to the Rotary Foundation. The Trenton club is a yearly contributor to the foundation, which provides funds for various projects including several grants received by the Trenton club for projects ranging from the purchase and installation of handicap playground equipment at Eastside Park to working with Bright Futures Trenton to renovate a room at Rissler Elementary School for use by the Bright Futures program. For each $1,000 contribution to the Foundation, the club can designate one individual as a Paul Harris Fellow and this year, because of individual and club donations, 12 persons received the honor. As a result, the Trenton club becomes the ninth club among 56 in District 6040 to be a 100 percent-member Paul Harris club.
Receiving the Paul Harris Fellow designation were Brent Wyant, David Bain, Dr. Hessam Borhani, Jacob Black, Michael Ormsby, Mike Stegman, Ryan Tepen, Tara Walker, Amy Lewis, Donita Youtsey, Mark Hackathorn and Micah Landes.

The club recently made a donation to the Rotary Foundation in memory of the late Joe Brinser, a long-time member and former club president. His brother, Robert Brinser, and son, Justin Brinser, were present and were formally designated as honorary Paul Harris members on Joe’s behalf.
During the business meeting, an update was given on the club’s Shoes for Orphan Souls/Bright Futures Trenton shoe project. Shoes have been donated and money contributed, which will be used to purchase additional shoes. The shoes will be officially presented at the District 6040 convention at Kansas City in May.
