Veterans Services Offered In April

Several services are being offered this month for area veterans through the Veterans Administration.
A veterans service officer will be present at the Trenton VFW Post 919 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 2, Monday, April 5 and Friday, April 16 to help with VA paperwork and to answer any questions. Veterans are asked to bring a copy of their DD-214 and all VA paperwork. A counselor will be available 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 2 and April 16 at the Trenton VFW to help with PTSD and readjustment counseling. Discharged and active military members are welcome.
An officer will also be available at the Milan American Legion Post 228 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 9, with the counselor being available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For a ride on the VA shuttle, persons may call 660-359-2078. The shuttle runs to Kansas City every Wednesday, with pickups at well-lit, pre-arranged pickup points. You will need to call and leave your last name, last four digits of your social security number, date of travel, where you need to go and how many people will ride.
Drivers for the shuttle are being sought. For more information call the number listed above.
