Firefighters Called To Leisure Lake

The Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District and Trenton Fire Department were called to a blaze Dec. 30 at Leisure Lake.
According to information provided by Trenton Fire Lt. Jeremy Summers, the structure fire was reported at about 3:15 p.m. near 72108 Eight-Point Dr. at the lake, located west of Trenton. When firefighters arrived, the unoccupied structure, owned by Brent Hauge, was fully involved, with fire in the attic area of the building. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to that structure, which was deemed a total loss. The cause of the blaze, which kept firefighters on the scene for about two and one-half hours, is undetermined.
In addition to the GCRFPD and the TFD, other departments providing assistance included the Grundy County Ambulance and the Jamesport Fire Department.
