David Eugene Slater, a 58-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Lindley Funeral Home at Chillicothe. General visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Slater was born on July 17, 1962 in Trenton, the son of Donald H. and Donna Archibald Slater. He was a 1980 graduate of Trenton High School. He was married on Sept. 22, 1990 in Trenton to Ilishia Wilson, who survives of the home. He worked as a farmer and funeral director all of his life. He enjoyed collecting and tinkering with Allis Chalmers tractors and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Open Door Church at Trenton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael Slater of Trenton, Phillip Slater and his fiancee, Marlois of Breckenridge and Matthew Slater of Trenton; two grandsons, Carter and Clay Slater; one brother, Dewayne Slater and his wife, Janet of Trenton; and two nieces.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Grove Cemetery at Trenton and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home at PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
