Patricia A. Smith, a 90-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Sunday, May 3, 2020, at Morningside Center in Chillicothe.
There are no scheduled services at this time. Lindley Funeral Home of Chillicothe is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith was born on June 30, 1929 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Clifford and Mary Fry Murphy. She was a 1946 graduate of Humphreys High School. She was married on Nov. 26, 1947 in Trenton to Rex Duane Smith, who preceded her in death on March 11, 1999.
She attended LPN school at Linn County Vo-Tech, earning her degree in 1969. She worked as an LPN for Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe from 1967 until 1974. She then worked for Dr. Trinidad in Chillicothe from 1974 until 1991.
Mrs. Smith attended the United Methodist Church at Chillicothe. She was a member of Chapter JW, PEO in Chillicothe.
She is survived by one son, Duane Smith and his wife, Linda of Chillicothe; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Danny Murphy and his wife, Patty of Trenton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Diane Dmytryk; and one sister, Mary Jane Artz.
