Gary Lamont Shields, a 68-year-old resident of Apple Valley, MN and former Trenton resident, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at his home.
Services will be held at a later date at the Fort Snelling, MN, National Cemetery.
Mr. Shields was born on Dec. 21, 1951 in Tarentum, PA, the son of Harry and Frances Shields. He was decorated for his service in the United States Army as a helicopter repairman. He continued those skills of working on helicopters and airplanes and was a mechanic for LifeFlight at Trenton. He enjoyed sharing Army stories and mechanic expertise.
He is survived by his children, Gidget, Crystal and Cory; siblings, Linda, Amy, Cindy and Amber; grandchildren, Cody, Cory, Dominick, Darin, Brady, Zachary, Desiree, Hallie, Victoria and Avery; a great-grandson, Hayden; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
