Local Hospitals Test For COVID-19

Wright Memorial Hospital at Trenton and Hedrick Medical Center of Chillicothe have tested a total of 343 individuals for COVID-19 as of Monday, April 20, according to information provided on Monday by the Saint Luke’s Health System.
Wright Memorial Hospital has tested 129 persons, including 90 from Grundy County, 26 from Mercer County and 13 from other counties. At Hedrick Medical Center, 157 Livingston County residents have been tested along with 57 from other counties.
Individuals must be referred for the test by a medical provider based in Grundy, Mercer or Livingston counties and meet certain criteria, which include symptoms of a fever of 100 degrees or higher, cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste, diarrhea, sore throat or body aches. The symptoms must also be combined with one or more of the following risk factors: exposed in the past 14 days to someone with COVID-19; over the age of 65; immunocompromised (active chemotherapy, transplant, chronic steroid, AIDS/HIV, diabetes, uncontrolled chronic condition, heart, lung, liver or kidney disease); works in a health care setting/first responder; or pregnant.
