Virginia Vinzant, a 96-year-old resident of Princeton, died at 6:34 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the mortuary before the services.
Mrs. Vinzant was born on April 11, 1923 in Mill Grove, the daughter of William and Goldie Roberts McLaughlin. Before retiring, she was employed as a cook in several surrounding cafes and was also employed at the post office in Mill Grove until it closed in 1974.
She was married on Jan. 6, 1940 to Cleo E. Stotts, who preceded her in death on April 20, 1970. She was married in 1975 to Bernard Vinzant, who preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1986.
Survivors include one son, Melvin (Sue) Stotts of Princeton; four grandchldren, Jack (Joy) Stotts of Melbourne, Jennie (Bob) Hutchinson of Trenton, Eareline (Don) Hazelrigg of Blue Springs, Linette (Mike) Winkler of Independence and Ray (Jennifer) Lewis of Princeton; 13 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one great-niece; and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one son, Jerry Stotts; a sister, Marjorie Black; a brother-in-law Roy Black; and a niece, Deanna (Jim) Profitt.
Memorials are suggested to the Green Hills Animal Shelter at Trenton and may be left with or mailed to the mortuary.
