John Clark Stantruff, an 82-year-old Trenton resident, died at 2:40 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the Slater-Neal Funeral Home of Trenton. Burial will follow in the Pine Cemetery near Princeton.
A family visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Open visitation will begin at noon Sunday, March 15, 2020.
Mr. Stantruff was born on Sept. 11, 1937 in Mercer County, the son of Delbert and Gertrude Frakes Stanturf. He was married on July 14, 1962 in Princeton to Aleta Marie Wishon. He worked on furnaces and air conditioning as well as general carpentry. He also enjoyed working on all kinds of automobiles.
Survivors include his wife, Aleta of the home; a son, John Wayne Stantruff of Trenton; a brother, Michael Stanturf of Princeton; four sisters, Marilyn Newlon of IL, Keairon Spurgeon of Trenton, Betty Stanturf of Illinois and Suzie Wilson and her husband, Smoke of Spickard; grandchildren, Michael Stantruff of Kansas City, Megan Broderick and her husband, Sam of Lee’s Summit and Aeriel Stantruff of Blue Springs; and a great-granddaughter, Destiny Stantruff of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial donations are suggested to Pine Cemetery and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
