The Trenton High School Percussion Orchestra traveled to Graceland University in Lamoni, IA on Tuesday, March 3 to participate in Graceland Percussion Day. The event was offered at no cost and included four master classes taught by Dr. Scott Herring, professor of Percussion at the University of South Carolina; award winning Irish percussionist Cara Wildman; Dr. Chris McWilliams, freelance percussionist from New York City; and Professor Melinda Leoce from Graceland University. The THS Percussion Orchestra also received a 45-minute clinic session with Professor Leoce, who gave feedback on the musical piece they will be performing at state contest. Ethan Stewart is the director of bands for the Trenton R-9 School District.
