The Grundy R-5 High School basketball teams are at the Meadville Tournament this week. The Grundy girls scored a 45-38 win over Tina-Avalon in overtime in the opening round and advanced to the title game with a win by forfeit over Mercer in the semifinals. The Grundy boys fell 72-48 to Hale in the first round before winning 55-50 over Tina-Avalon in the consolation semifinals.
The Grundy girls were led by 23 points from Aubrey Gann and 10 from Bri Carpio against Tina. The boys got 15 points from Caden Gann and 14 from Cooper Lewis against Hale and 22 from Lewis and 10 from Gann against Tina.
