The North Central Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center and the Green Hills Animal Shelter are teaming up to host a “Run, Walk, Wag” 5K/1K run/walk on Saturday, March 7 to promote awareness of child and animal abuse.
Sign-in for the race will be held at 7:30 p.m. the day of the race in front of the advocacy center office at 906 Main St., with the run/walk to start at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers are encouraged to bring their dogs to participate in the event, which include a “pop-up” pet adoption at Five Points following the race.
The cost to participate is $25, which includes a t-shirt for the first 75 registrants, a race bandana for all dog participants and a finisher medal for all 5K runners. Online registration will be accepted through March 4 at the website, https://my.racewire.com/event/6761. Participants can also register in person on race day. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the advocacy center and animal shelter.
