Former Trenton Resident Marty Thomas To Perform In Kansas City Area

Former Trenton resident Marty Thomas recently released a new album and will be showcasing it during a Kansas City area show in February.
Thomas, who resides and works in New York City, will be performing at the Music Theater Kansas City at B&B Theaters Shawnee 18 in Shawnee, KS on Friday, Feb. 7. The “Slow Dancing with a Boy” Tour will feature songs from the new album, which rose to number 19 on the iTunes pop charts in its first week of release. The music runs the genre from pop to musical theater. The show gets under way at 8 p.m. and tickets are available through the website http://www.mtkc.org/marty/
A Trenton native and graduate of Trenton High School, Thomas has been a fixture in New York City since his Broadway debut in “The Secret Garden.” His Broadway credits also include “Xanadu” and “Wicked” and he has also performed in several productions at the New York Theater as well as regionally. His most recent television role was “Charlie” on the Netflix show, “Grace and Frankie.” Musically, “Resurrect Me,” a tune recorded in 2001, was nominated for three Grammy Awards.
He is the son of Philip and Carol Thomas of Trenton.
