Ronald Keith “Ron” Scott, a 69-year-old resident of Harris, died on Friday Jan. 3, 2020 at his home.
The body was cremated and no services are planned. The family will be planting a memorial oak tree at a later date.
Mr. Scott was born on March 3, 1950 in Kirksville, the son on Lee Scott and Lucille Montgomery Scott. He was married on Aug 20, 1979 to Margaret Lee Snidow, who survives of the home.
He grew up in Adair County, graduating in 1968 from Novinger R-1 High School. He attended Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) at Kirksville for two years and was later employed with the college in the maintenance department. He worked for the college for 15 years and transferred to Maryville University in Chesterfield to head their maintenance and energy management system for the entire college. After retirement, the couple returned to northeast Missouri in 2001.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Tom (Sara) Jacobs of Spickard and Jeremy (Jillian) Scott of Boston, MA; three grandchildren, Brooke, Rory and J.T. and Owen; one great-grandchild, Ru; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; his brother, Laverne Scott; and a sister, Marilyn Sherman.
