Rhonda S. Brown

Rhonda S. Brown, a 58-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 7:50 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at the Wesley United Methodist Church of Trenton. Burial will be in Rural Dale Cemetery, east of Trenton.
Family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 at the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Memorials are suggested to the Green Hills Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Slater-Neal Funeral Home at Trenton.
Mrs. Brown was born on July 15, 1961 at Trenton, the daughter of Oscar and Thelma Knight Peterson. She graduated from Grundy R-5 High School in 1979. She was employed by the Trenton R-9 School District as a paraprofessional.
She was a member of Hodge Presbyterian Church at Trenton.
She was married on June 15, 1985 to Calvin R. Brown at Trenton.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin of the home; one daughter, Kimby Mengel and her husband, Chris of Trenton; one son, Cody Brown of St. Joseph; one grandson, Leo Mengel of Trenton; three sisters, Joan Peterson-Burris of Ames, IA, Diane Nobles and her husband, Harold of Bristow, OK and Brenda Shirley and her husband, Jason of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Doug Peterson and his wife, Nancy of Columbus, NC and Brian Peterson and his wife, Barb of Trenton; one sister-in-law, Mary Peterson of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Peterson.
