Hosted by the NCMC Student Senate and Alumni Association, the day includes announcement of the homecoming king and queen during halftime of the men’s basketball game with Metropolitan Community College, slated for a 7 p.m. start. The women’s game with MCC will precede the men’s game at 5 p.m.
Eight students have been selected as candidates for homecoming royalty, representing various organizations on campus. Nominees had to be current NCMC sophomores in good standing, nominated by their club/organization and selected by club advisors. The nominations were then narrowed down to the eight finalists (four men, four women) selected by a committee of alumni, faculty and staff.
Candidates for king include Andrew George of Canton, representing the Baptist Student Union; Cash Miller of Warsaw, representing Phi Theta Kappa; Gregoor Moesker of Willemstad, Curacao, representing the International Club; and Tyler Kidd of Trenton, representing the Criminal Justice Club. Queen candidates are Katie Adkison of Hamilton, representing the Business Club; Brooke Leeper of Princeton, representing Student-Missouri State Teachers Association; Chasidy Finney of Princeton, representing NCMC Dance Wave; and Annaliese Riley of Chillicothe, representing Phi Theta Kappa.
All events will be taking place in the Ketcham Community Center. In addition to the basketball games and crowning of royalty, activities include a pre-game tailgate, sponsored by BTC Bank of Trenton; a performance by NCMC Dance Wave; a meet and greet with Pirate athletes; and recognition of the NCMC Family of the Year and alumni classes. Patch the Pirate will also be in attendance, handing out Pirate Crew rally towels, sponsored by PDQ Cleaning.
The public is encouraged to dress up in their red, white and black and take part in the many activities planned for the evening.
