The Utility Committee of the Trenton City Council took action on Tuesday night regarding floor work at the water treatment plant.
Committee members voted to use ceramic tile for the floor work, which is estimated to cost about $10,000 more than what had originally been estimated. However, the old tile floor was going to have to be sealed due to asbestos, which would have been an even more expensive option at $13,000 more than the project estimate. The tile should be more durable and require less maintenance.
Action by the committee will not have to go to the city council for final approval. The work is scheduled to begin in January.
