Max Ivan Garrison, a 90-year-old Trenton resident, died at 2:52 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.
A family visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the mortuary.
Mr. Garrison was born on Aug. 3, 1929 in Mount Vernon, the son of George and Dola Davis Garrison. He served in the Army during the Korean War from March 2, 1951 to Dec. 2, 1952.
He was married on May 14, 1954 at Fulton to Twilah Klingensmith. He worked for the United States Post Office for 32 years, first as a foot carrier in Trenton and later as a rural route driver. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and was an avid pool player.
He is survived by his wife, Twilah of the home; a daughter, Monica Ames and her husband, Gordon of Kerrville, TX; a son, Kenneth Garrison and his wife, Christy of Hunt, TX; a sister, Barbara Bailey of Lebanon, MO; four half-sisters, Wilma Jones of Hamilton, Wanda Haley of Chillicothe, Joan Hill of Grant City and Eva Johnson of Marionville; a granddaughter, Natalie Steele; four step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lee Garrison; two brothers, Rex Garrison and Gene Garrison; and a half-brother Bill Garrison.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Joseph L. Norton VFW Post 919 of Trenton and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
