Nov 18, 2019 | Headline News

Two persons were transported to Wright Memorial Hospital for injuries they received in a one-vehicle accident investigated Nov. 14 at the intersection of 15th and Mable streets.
According to Sgt. Matt Preston’s accident report, the mishap occurred when a car driven by Camryn Willey of Trenton pulled from the curb after picking up a passenger on Mable Street. She continued driving northbound on Mable Street and then drove off the left side of the roadway approximately 15 feet past the intersection with 15th Street. Her vehicle struck a metal street drain with the front driver’s side tire, then continued northbound for approximately nine feet and struck a Trenton Municipal Utilities wooden utility pole with the driver’s side of the car. The pole was sheered off and the car continued another 10 feet before coming to rest.
Ms. Willey said she blacked out prior to the accident and did not regain consciousness until after the accident when her passenger, Sabastian Brown of Trenton, was telling her to get out of the vehicle. Brown said he was looking down at his backpack when the initial collision occurred.
Ms. Willey sustained an injury to her wrist and it appeared that Brown sustained a head injury. Both were treated and released at WMH. Neither one was wearing a seat belt and the airbags on the vehicle deployed during the crash.
