Adoption fees for dogs and cats at the Green Hills Animal Shelter will be waived for a three-day period later this month, thanks to a Connecticut charity that has agreed to cover those fees.
The Cathy Kangas Foundation for Animals will cover the fees through Free the Shelters, a program designed to save shelter animals from being euthanized. PRAI Beauty and its philanthropic arm, PRAI for Paws, are co-sponsors of the program. The Green Hills Animal Shelter was chosen to participate in Free the Shelters as it is a shelter in which animals are not euthanized, but are kept and cared for until they find their forever home.
The shelter’s free adoption will take place at the shelter facility for three days only – from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23 and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. For more information, persons can contact the shelter at 359-2700.
