The Grundy County Commission approved the purchase of a new ambulance during its meeting on Tuesday.
The bid, submitted Tuesday morning by Pinnacle, was for $179,112 and is for a 2019 Ford F-450 V-10 with a Braun box. The funds for the purchase will come from the 2020 budget, with payment due upon delivery. No bids were received for snow removal, but the commission will continue to use last year’s vendor, Gott Brothers, and the county road and bridge crew to provide snow removal and ice melt at the courthouse, prosecuting attorney’s office and the county law enforcement center. It was noted that two commissioners, Phil Ray and Don Sager, will join Emergency Management Director Glen Briggs at the Incident Command School at Wright Memorial Hospital on Thursday.
