Trenton R-9 Winter Weather Procedures

The Trenton R-9 School District has announced the winter weather procedures that will be in place during the 2019-20 school year.
1. Announcements concerning cancellations, earlyouts, late starts and/or the use of hard surface bus routes will be made locally through the following outlets:
• Trenton R-9 Twitter account
• R-9 District Facebook page(s)
• Trenton R-9 District website
• Bulldog Text Alert System
• Republican-Times
• KTTN Radio
• KC Fox 4 TV
• KC Channel 5 TV
2. In the event of a late start, all schedules for students in grades K-12 will be on a two-hour delay. School will begin at 10 a.m. and bus routes will be delayed by two hours. On days with a late start, there will be no breakfast served throughout the district.
3. In the event that school is in session and weather conditions force the school district to release students early, all after school activities and programs will be cancelled.
4. The preschool schedule will vary. On late start days, there will be no morning sessions of preschool, but afternoon sessions will meet. On early out days, there will be no afternoon sessions of preschool.
5. District personnel will use information from local, state and national weather organizations to make determinations about dismissing or cancelling school. In addition, road conditions, wind chill temperatures and student safety will be evaluated to determine what is best for students and staff of the Trenton R-9 District.
