Three persons were arrested over the weekend, including two whose cases are related and one who failed to appear in court.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Trenton resident Kyley Culbertson has been charged with hindering the prosecution of a felony, a class E felony, after telling law enforcement officers that Desmond A. Calton, 19, Excelsior Springs, was not at a residence on Town and Country Lane. Officers were attempting to apprehend Calton, who has been charged with third degree assault, a class E felony, and he was found hiding in a closet at the residence. Calton is accused of striking a subject in the face with a closed fist on Oct. 13. Both defendants are being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on $5,000 bond, with cash, corporate surety or 10 percent allowed. They are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 12.
Also arrested was Devin A. Robinson, 31, address unknown, who has been extradited from Norton, KS, where he was arrested for failing to appear in court on a Grundy County charge of first degree tampering with a motor vehicle, a class C felony. His bond has been set at $15,000 cash only and he is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 14.
A fourth person, Patrick McPherson of Trenton, was also arrested for failing to appear in court on an original charge of non-support, a class D felony. His bond is $5,000 cash only and he is scheduled to be in court Nov. 12.
