Betty Jane Consolver, a 91-year-old resident of St. Joseph, died on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory in St. Joseph. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery at St. Joseph.
A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Consolver was born on May 27, 1928 in Trenton, the daughter of Froman and Arlie Nicholas Stamper. She was married on Sept. 18, 1972 to Billy Consolver, who preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1989.
She was a graduate of Spickard High School and worked for many years at Quaker Oats and then at Big Smith, retiring in 1984. She enjoyed volunteering for various organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Y-Woman and the state hospital. She was a member of Quaker Ladies and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. She also enjoyed attending family reunions.
Survivors include a son, Larry Dorrell; a step-daughter, Debbie Consolver; two step-sons, Rick (Janis) Consolver and Roger (Debbie) Consolver; a grandson, Billy Dorrell of Arlington, TX; two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Noah; six step-grandchildren, Amie Howery, James (Sarah) Frazier, Jeremy (Jenny) Lawhon, Brad (McKinzie) Consolver, Bryson Consolver and Kyle (Rindy) Consolver; 12 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack (Marilyn) Stamper, Ben Stamper and Gary (Debbie) Stamper; two sisters, Pauline Smith, Colene Davis and Linda Sweany; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eugene Stamper; a sister, Dixie Lewis; and a step-grandson, Ryan Consolver.
Memorials are suggested to the Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center.
