THS Student Takes Top Art Honor At Missouri Western Event

A charcoal drawing by Trenton High School senior Kasie Otto was the top overall entry at the the Missouri Western State Univsersity Visual Arts Day held on Thursday, Oct. 10 at St. Joseph. Miss Otto won first place with the drawing, which also received the excellence award in the charcoal category. There were 20 THS students who attended the event, with four having art pieces judged. They included Kierra Werteen, whose sculpture also won an excellence award; Kaitlee Lovell, painting; and Hannah Stark, scratch board. There were over 700 students and 43 school districts in attendance. Lori Duff is the THS art instructor.
