October Is National Disability Employment Awareness Month

Grundy County Senate Bill 40-FFDD is celebrating October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month, a national campaign to raise awareness about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of American workers with disabilities. Several local and area businesses employ people with developmental disabilities. Grundy County SB40-FFDD, with the assistance of a state grant, is able to run a 16-passenger bus to Chillicothe twice a day, allowing Grundy County residents to work at Hope Haven Industries. Each year funding is given through grants to assist developmentally disabled individuals in employment opportunities and vocational/educational activities.
