Joan Offield, a 90-year-old former Trenton resident, died at 12:27 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019 at Excelsior Nursing and Rehab in Excelsior Springs.
Graveside services are at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton.
Mrs. Offield was born on Jan. 6, 1929 in Trenton, the daughter of Wilbur and Beulah Stottlemyre Chandler. She graduated from Trenton High School and attended Trenton Junior College.
She was married on April 2, 1961 at the First Assembly of God Church in Trenton to Stephen Offield. She worked as a telephone operator for 41 years. She enjoyed spending time with her church family.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Offield of Excelsior Springs; a son, Stan Offield of Kansas City; a sister, Donna Chandler of Independence; and grandchildren, Daniel Offield and his wife, Allison, Steven Offield and his girlfriend, Haley and Matthew Offield, all of Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joyce Copple.
Memorial donations may be made to the College of the Ozarks and left with or mailed to the Slater-Neal Funeral Home in Trenton.
