Andrew William Liebig, 42, died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at Oak Christian Church in Maysville.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019 at the Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville.
Andrew was born on June 14, 1977, the son of Larry and Kathryn Loomis Liebig, formerly of Trenton. He graduated from Maysville High School in 1995 and from Columbia College in Columbia with an associate’s degree in criminal justice. He was currently employed by Whelan Security as a lieutenant in Wyandotte County, KS. and was attending classes at Park University to be certified as a paralegal.
He was a member of Oak Christian Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.
He was a high-functioning Autistic and had Asperger’s Syndrome. He worked hard to promote understanding of this illness with the public. While living in Columbia he was a member of the Disabilities Commission of Columbia. He had been working with Rep. Ann Kelley of the Missouri House of Representatives to get a bill passed allowing autistic persons to add a symbol on their driver’s license that would alert police officers or medical personnel to know that a person was autistic and might need to be assisted in a different way.
He is survived by his parents; a daughter, Sara Marie Liebig of Centralia; brothers, Glen M. (Debra M.) Liebig of Eden MD and Mark A. (Debra L.) Liebig of Lee’s Summit; his nephew, Michael A. Liebig of Lee’s Summit; and nieces, Lisa M. (Gregor) Sink, of Sunnyvale, CA and Lorie M. Liebig of Nashville, TN.
