Trenton High School fall sports coaches presented the program at the Thursday, Sept. 12 meeting of the Trenton Rotary Club. Allan Seidel was the program chairman.
R-9 Athletic Director Wes Croy introduced the coaches, who included Tammy Ockenfels, girls tennis; Pam Bowden, girls volleyball; Joel Hultman, girls softball; and Kevin Hixson, football. Girls golf coach Travis Mullenix was unable to attend, however, Croy gave a short report about the golf team, which has five players. There are 18 girls out for the tennis team while there are 23 girls out for volleyball and 19 girls out for girls softball. The football team has 40 members. Each coach told about their teams and their goals for the season.
During the business meeting, sign-up sheets were distributed for members to work at the Sept. 21 fish fry as well as to bring desserts for the meal. The fish fry will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rock Barn and will include a silent auction and entertainment. Tickets are available from Rotary members and can also be purchased at the door.
An update was also given on the Missouri Day Parade, which the club organizes. A meeting of the parade committee is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri.
Diane Lowrey will be the program chairman for the Sept. 19 meeting.
